Dr. Rana Afifi earned her medical degree at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. She completed her internship and residency in general surgery and a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Carmel Medical Center in Haifa. She completed a second fellowship in complex aortic surgeries at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

An assistant professor of vascular surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, Dr. Afifi has been in practice since 2004 and is board certified in general surgery as well as vascular and endovascular surgery. Her clinical interests include endovascular surgery, vascular surgery, aortic aneurysms, carotid surgery, peripheral arterial disease, dialysis access, upper and lower extremity revascularization (limb salvage) and medical management of vascular diseases.
