Physician Biography

Dr. Yazan Alderazi earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He finished internships at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin and Boston University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. He also completed fellowships at Rutgers Medical School (endovascular surgical neuroradiology), the University of Miami School of Medicine (neurocritical care) and McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) in vascular neurology.

In practice since 2005, Dr. Alderazi is board certified in general neurology and vascular neurology. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of neurointerventional procedures in the brain, spine, head and neck, with a focus on brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, carotid stenosis and stroke. His primary clinical interests are cerebral aneurysms, brain arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, spinal arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, carotid artery stenosis or dissection, vertebral artery stenosis or dissection, intracranial stenosis, stroke thrombectomy, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, head-neck-spine tumor embolization, neurocritical care and neuroimaging (MRI and angiography).

Dr. Alderazi is an assistant professor of neurology at McGovern Medical School. Previously he established and directed the neurointerventional surgery program at Texas Tech University-University Medical Center, the first center in the Lubbock area to deliver organized neuroendovascular treatment of stroke.
